Your money questions – ‘How long will it take to sell our house and get a new mortgage so we can move?’

Q Some new houses are being built nearby and we are keen to move to them but we wondered about the timing of putting our house up for sale, applying for a new mortgage, putting a deposit on the new one, and so on. We’re told that the new one will be ready at the end of this year or early next year. We don’t want to miss out but equally don’t want to spend too much time renting.
