​Most of us know what it is to feel overwhelmed. The pressures may be different for each of us – family concerns, work responsibilities, health worries, financial anxieties, or simply the relentless pace of modern life – but there are moments when we can sympathise with St Matthew's description of the crowds as “harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd”.
