Saoirse Hanley: Why should the main takeaway from a photo of a moment or a day be that my arms didn’t look thin?

I’ve got 13,232 photos in my phone library right now. Of them, there are thousands of snaps of my family’s cats, hundreds of screenshots I’ll never need but saved nonetheless and countless photos of myself that would be gorgeous if it wasn’t for my arm. If it’s a picture taken in the warmer months, and I’m in a short-sleeve top, chances are I don’t like it.
