Saoirse Hanley: Now that I’ve swapped scrolling on my phone with bouts of ‘junk journalling’, I’m learning the value of all kinds of rubbish

Being on your phone a lot means coming across a lot of rubbish. Particularly as the slop that AI produces infects social media – an April Fools’ joke post is a lot less funny when not created by a human, by the way – scrolling is an exercise in wading through reams and reams of crap. To combat the feeling of being shackled to my phone, I’ve swapped the internet’s scraps for real-life ones, and now I glue bits of rubbish into a notebook.
