PTSB fined €277,500 by DPC for failing to prevent malicious actors accessing customer bank accounts

Ireland’s Data Protection Commission (DPC) has fined PTSB €277,500 after the bank failed to properly stop malicious actors from accessing customer accounts through its call centre. The incident was first brought to the attention of the DPC in 2022.
