Obituary: Nedra Talley-Ross, the last surviving member of the Ronettes
Nedra Talley-Ross, who died last week aged 80, was the last surviving member of the Ronettes, the bee-hived trio who lit up the early 1960s with anthems of teenage passion like Be My Baby, Walking in the Rain and Baby, I Love You. Asked why the Ronettes were so successful, she once ventured: “Our songs were aimed at boys, while other girl groups sang about boys.”
