Katriona O’Sullivan: Why thousands of disadvantaged students watching a live stream from an Irish theatre really matters

A few weeks ago, 23,000 students from across 29 counties sat in their schools and watched a live stream of Poor from the Gate Theatre. Around 8,000 of those students were from Deis schools; young people who would not usually see themselves in the Gate Theatre, young people who would never usually walk through those doors.
