I’ve often thought that us Irish have a morbid fascination with death. Perhaps this is why we do funerals so well. Nobody does a funeral like the Irish. We manage to combine the right amount of sadness, poignancy and humour that is required to make a funeral be a fitting tribute to the person who has passed.
