John Jobson: ‘I have had a work returned to me because, in the buyer’s opinion, it didn’t match her curtains’

Born in Hatch Street, Dublin, in 1941, John Jobson grew up in Co Dublin against a backdrop of “animal and farm husbandry”. Aged seven, he was paid to milk and care for two cows and was allowed, aged nine, “after rigorous training, to carry a shotgun”, he says.
