Germany sceptical of Vladimir Putin’s request for former chancellor to oversee peace negiotiations

Germany has dismissed a suggestion from Russian president Vladimir Putin that former chancellor Gerhard Schroeder could co-ordinate talks with the European Union to secure a peace deal in Ukraine.
