Dermot Crowe: Beating the curse of Ulster’s preliminary round

For six decades the preliminary round in the Ulster football championship proved to be a harbinger of doom for the two teams unfortunate enough to be drawn to play in it. After Cavan won Ulster from a preliminary round start in 1945, it took 60 years before a team matched that achievement.
