Declan Lynch: From a shocking miss to musical own goals, RTÉ loves to kick itself when it is down

It has happened several times, yet it always takes me by surprise. I’m in a state of relaxation, waiting for the Champions League action to start on RTÉ or Virgin Media, when it hits me – they’re not showing the game on terrestrial TV. Or at least they’re not showing the game most of us want to see, featuring Liverpool or Arsenal.
