Dear Vicki: Should I set ambitious targets for my team, like Elon Musk does in Starlink and Tesla?

Q I run a small retail business and set targets for my team in the past, but it didn’t work well and had a negative impact on morale and behaviour. Since then, I’ve moved away from setting clear targets, but I feel that’s not right either.
