California Schemin’ review: Scottish hip-hop hoax biopic flows beautifully

Gavin Bain (Séamus McLean Ross) and Billy Boyd (Samuel ­Bottomley) are bedroom MCs who dream of escaping drab ­Dundee and landing a record deal. When they get turned away from an audition in London they realise that, in the era of Eminem and D12, their Scottish brogues are doing them a disservice.
