Ask the Doctor: My daughter has verrucas but hates the freeze spray – will they just go away naturally?

Question: Is it true that verrucas go away on their own? I have been using a freezing spray on my daughter to no avail. She hates it and I am half tempted to see if they go away on their own, as others have told me they will. Is this true? If I ignore them will they spread? She is eight years old.
