Alliance bid to ban smacking children in Northern Ireland dropped - DUP say it would have 'criminalised parents'

An Alliance proposal to ban smacking children will not go ahead, after an attempt to tag it on to major reforms to Northern Ireland’s justice system were rejected by the Assembly’s speaker.
